Our family has had the privilege of knowing Scott Burt for several years now. Our two oldest children had taken piano lessons for years before we moved to Tennessee but it wasn’t until after starting lessons with Scott that they soared in their abilities. Scott has such a passion for music and it is evident in the way he teaches. He has a nurturing and pleasant teaching style and environment yet is able to challenge his students to excel and reach their optimum potential. Our youngest child is now taking lessons with Scott and she is eager and excited each week.
He is an inspiring and beloved teacher, accomplished musician, and consummate professional. We are so thankful to have someone of such high caliber as Scott in the Columbia area. He is not only an excellent teacher and mentor but also a treasured friend.

I started coming to Scott Burt for piano lessons in the fall of 2016. Before that, I had been with two other instructors and, for a time, was a self-taught pianist. I know I was a very poor pianist during that time. I had no idea how to play correctly or even sit correctly when playing. I didn’t know much about musicality or how to control the piano. However, over the last two years, under Scott Burt’s direction, I’ve seen marked improvements in all areas of my playing. He has been very patient with me and answered all my questions, no matter how detailed they were. As of right now, I can honestly say that Scott Burt is the best piano instructor I’ve had to date. He is very well versed on the piano and has a deep working knowledge of the various techniques for playing piano.

Scott Burt Piano Studio has been wonderful for my daughter! In just a few short months with Scott, her playing and technique improved tremendously. I have seven children who all took or are currently taking piano lessons from Scott Burt. Scott is an amazing person and teacher who has a wealth of music history knowledge as well as technical skills that put him on par with the top music schools in Nashville. He is patient and kind to his students and encourages them to expand their piano skills at a steady pace. All of my children can sit down at the piano and play beautiful music which enhances our family life. Piano also taught my children to read music well which helps them with other musical pursuits like singing and playing other musical instruments.
